You Talking To Me???

Well, I know it's supposed to be Wordless Wednesday, but since I haven't posted in a few days, I have to write a few thoughts down. Mr. Blues, Jr. is growing in leaps and bounds. He won't leave his big sister's side. He follows her EVERYWHERE. Which is really cute. Josie is being really patient with him, to a point. When I know she's had enough, she gives me this look and I know it's crate time for Blues. I've actually been taking Blues to work with me. I have a portable "tent" crate I use there with him. His training his coming along just fine. He's a normal puppy. But he sits on command and he stays when I open the car door to get him out. Which is really good.

My visit with Josie to Pediatrics last Friday (4/16) went so well!! We have another visit this Saturday. She just loves visiting the children. Their faces are worth every minute of being there. There was one little boy who we visited who had his little brother in the bed with him, so it was Josie and two little boys all at the same time. I wish I could have taken a picture to show all of you. Priceless!

It was also the one month anniversary of John's passing yesterday (4/20). I wanted to visit Gertrud, but when I called her, she didn't pick up the phone. I was in her area, but I didn't want to just stop by. I always call first. I give her space, but am always checking on her. Turns out she was just outside watering plants. But I did get to talk to her on the phone. I will visit her tonight. She's coming along, but it's very hard. She misses John so much. I can tell her life is so empty right now. I am trying my best to help her along. I tell her that John would want her to be happy, but she needs to process the loss in her own time. I do know that. I am there for her and so is Josie and Little B.

I also know that today is the day that the show "Through a Dog's Eyes" shows on PBS. (click on link to check it out). I know lots of our blog friends have been talking about it.

I also wanted to tell you about this wonderful woman Lisa and Sister Mary Beth who is running through all 50 states to raise money for all good causes. She started 2 days ago. It's called "Running Hope through America" (click on link to check it out). Since we are all over the place in the USA and beyond, she might be running near you, so it might be fun to read out it. Pretty amazing stuff!

Right now, I am at work, they have laid off everyone but me and my boss. Josie is laying at my feet. Ahhhh, I have my Pandora music playing and am about to dive into a newsletter that I have to do. Hey, it's all in how you look at it. It's a beautiful day. No worries.

Thanks for all your love and support,
I love all of you so much,
Woof!
Much Love,
Josie and Mr. Blues, Jr.

  8. Hi Josie, Mom & Mr. Blues,

Those are the cutest photos ever, Mr. B is adorable. Love the ear, it makes him look even more like his big sister.

I'm glad to hear you are keeping in touch with Gertrud (knew you would) and that she is doing alright. Let her know that some of us in blogville are thinking about her.

I will be checking out your links. Have a great rest of the week.

  10. Mr. Blues is SO darn cute. Sagira went through that phase where one ear would be up, one would be down, both would be down, both up, we didn't know how they were going to end up but now both are up and she is VERY expressive with her ears. We can tell what she is feeling by how her ears are pointed, it is really neat. I have always had floppy eared dogs before Sagira.

It is so nice to hear about your visits. I wish Sagira would still want to do therapy dog work because when she did, she really made people smile and you do meet certain patients that are just extra special and come into your life for a reason.

I think it is excellent that you are keeping up with John's wife. Most people are there right after the passing and then the months after when they REALLY need people, everyone has moved on with their life and they are just stuck in pain and alone, awful feeling. My mom is still in pain after my Grandpa's passing, it will be one year next month. I mean, we all miss him, but they were best friends and did everything together and I know nobody can miss him the way she does. But I tell her that life has to go on and that Grandpa would want her to be happy and living the good life. I just wish we had a better understanding on why the ones we love are taken from us, the pain is just awful.

  11. I'm glad you are staying in touch with Gertrude. I am sure she needs a friend that knew John as you did.

We will say a prayer about your job. The Duchess is in the same boat. She is the last one left in the office besides the owners. They told her last week she might have to start working 25% less hours each month. YIKES! There goes my good treats :) On the bright side though, it would mean more time at home with me!

    Kisses,
    Emma Rose

Josie would make the Perfect mother I'm sure. And how you and her communicate is the best thing ever.
Mr B will soon be learning to be a calm dog, I bet he's great with people!
I'm sure Gertrude really appreciates your love for her when she needed it.

  14. Hey Josie, Mr Blues and Mom,
Yes, Mr Blues is growing so fast and is looking so cute. He looks so much like Josie with the ears etc. Will he be trained for a therapy dog too?? That is so neat that your visits went so good with the kids. I bet they love Josie to death.

I hope that Gertrude will keep processing everything. God will help and comfort her. I am glad that you all are there for her and she knows that. Death is never easy.

You and Mr Blues have fun together ok??
    Love

You guys are just adorable! LOVE your header picture!

Sounds like you are doing wonderful work and making a lot of people happy :) Our mom had a therapy dog and it broke her heart when she died. We are all too young for therapy dog work right now but would love to get into it.
